StarLig lignosulfonate products have natural adhesive properties and added nutritional value. These characteristics make it a very attractive pellet binder for this sector.
StarLig lignosulfonate pellet binders do not only make pellets more durable, but they also increase the efficiency of the pellet mill. To form pellets, feed is extruded through a metal die. When StarLig is mixed with the feed, it produces a lubricating film over the metal surface. As a result, less power is required and the extrusion rate is increased. This saves energy and reduces man-hours per ton of feed, adding to the sustainability in the production process. StarLig lignosulfonates are available with or without a GMP+ certificate.
StarLig is a lignin-based pellet binder. Experience and practical trials have shown that StarLig consistently out-performs other binder types by the combined effect in improving pellet quality and pelleting efficiency. A lignin-based product like StarLig was the first pellet binder to be introduced in Europe, and it has been widely used in all types of feeds since the early 1960s.
